Simon is one of the classic example of
why my family didn`t like going to pet
stores with me ( they say I embarrass them too much
). Three years ago while
in a pet store I looked in the cages with the rats in them and saw this
Siamese
rat in the
cage, and although he was the biggest one in the cage, all the
other
rats were
bullying him and the poor little guy was just scrunched down in
a
corner. I picked
him up and you could hear him wheezing across the room.
After arguing with the worker there it
became clear to me he was going home
with us.
He was so frightened and wouldn`t eat,
so I started putting his amoxicillin on
a dollop of yogurt and walked away. He would lick it
up and that raised his
blood sugar and thus increased his appetite. then he started eating his
rat
block,by the time
he finished his medication he was coming to the cage and
taking food out of my hand,and has been
hand fed since.
Simon was the one who bit Oliver when he
stuck his paw in his cage ( he was
aging and no doubt thought it was food lol )
.
Now to day August, 13, 1999 he passed
over the rainbow bridge from old
age.He will be sadly
missed!!
