| How I first became a ferret lover. In Nov.,1996, after loosing our long time family
pet rats Frankie and Johnny, at first I had ruled out ferrets fearing I
may not be a very good owner thus being unfair to the animal ,though I had
read every book my local library had except one, A Practical guide to
owning a ferret, by the one and only Deborah Jeans, While at the pet store
intending on buying gerbils we saw a display of ferrets, and I began to
play with them then Chris whispered in my ear "you know we could get a
ferret ,they do have a longer life span". So like a kid in a toy store I
begun to pick the one I was going to bring home and over in the corner was
sleeping a beautiful silver mitt male, and right then I knew he was the
one! after we brought him home I was able to finally check out Deborah
Jeans book and used it as a guide . Then about two months later,we feared
he might be a bit lonely so we decided to get him a sister and we found
Lil Penny and he seemed to light up like a Christmas tree just dancing
like we have never seen him before! when Lil Penny passed two years later,
we feared he wouldn`t except another and also it would be harder to find
another ferret close enough to his age that would also be willing to share
with him. Now on Febuary/ 24/ 2000 we brought , Hope and Genie, home to
